Automatic upload isn’t set up on this CamVue server yet, so there is nothing to connect to. Upload recordings from the Library for now.
Where to send files
Enter these in the camera’s or recorder’s FTP settings, with a login from below.
Use SFTP or FTPS if the camera supports them. Plain FTP sends the password unencrypted; a login can only upload into this workspace’s folder, never download or delete.
Logins
One login can serve every camera and recorder. Add more, for example one per site, so you can revoke one without touching the rest.
Only workspace admins can add, change or revoke logins.
How cameras are matched
CamVue picks the camera from the folder and file name each upload arrives with, and adds a camera the first time it sees a new one.
- Set the remote folder to /, or to a folder named for the recorder or camera, such as Warehouse NVR. The first folder names the device.
- Channel numbers are read from names like 01_20261027233043.mp4, ch03_…, or a folder such as 001.
- Give each camera its own folder if you want exact control. Turn on passive mode.

How cameras are counted
You pay per camera, by the size of its footage. A camera counts once a recording from it has been compressed and checked, and stops counting when all its footage is deleted.
